The best news update came yesterday, when Bettiann's insurance company agreed to fly her out for a second opinion in Miami, as well as authorizing her potential treatment there. She is currently diagnosed with a rare condition called MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) - CMML subtype. Fortunately, through Krishna's help, she is able to meet soon with a specialist in MDS in Miami to help determine her treatment options. We are routing for you Bettiann!!!
What good news about the approval to go to Miami. There are a lot of folks in our church praying for you Bettiann and Pat and I pray for you every day. We love you and want to help in whatever way we can. You kids are amazing in the support you give her. We are a fortunate family. Love to all, Hank

Lots of people praying for her here too!!!! It was funny yesterday. Ron was still out-of-town so Sophie and I were going to pick up dinner after her gymnastics practice. I went to order our food and found the text from Mom about Miami. (earlier she was told they were denying her request, but would talk to Krishna to see what he had to say) I was so excited I had tears rolling down my face which made my friend start crying. Everyone thought we were a little odd. We were acting like we just won some big prize:0)

October 25th I have appointments with the specialists in Miami. Then we should have a plan for treatment. I'll keep you all posted. Thank you, Kristen for setting this up this blog. ReplyDeleteWell, tomorrow morning I fly to Miami. I have appointments with two specialists, thanks to Krishna for making all this possible. I have many, mixed feelings. Sometimes. I feel anxious, sometimes excited, sometimes a little scared. I guess it's the fear of the unknown. I am confident I will have a plan of treatment by the time I leave Miami. I will keep you al posted. Thank you for your continued support, it means so much to me!
